Growing Wool

Today we changed some coats in the lamb pen and I just HAVE to share what I saw.

This was a shocker! This little Cormo/Dorper ewe lamb (who still needs a name) gave me one of the biggest surprises.img_7021

Typical Dorper on the outside, but look what I found on the inside!!! Perfectly marbled.img_7017

Then we have Big Bertha’s twin brother (Polypay/Cormo)img_7023

The Dorpers just wanted to keep me on my toes (Dorper/Cormo) Looks like a Dorper to meimg_7026

But look how fine this is! He takes after his Cormo daddy in the wool department.img_7024

I’m happy to have so many excellent fleeces growing out this year, I can’t wait until shearing day –  12 lambs with excellent fleeces and 14 more in the ewe pen :0)img_7028

I love this little ram. I have him listed for sale but I might just decide to keep him.
