Princess is the first of our “Bummer” lambs. Her momma delivered this healthy girl and then just walked away, completely uninterested in her offspring. It’s not common (fortunately) but it does happen so now she’s a bottle baby and I’m her surrogate mom.

 She is a mix of Columbia and Hampshire Down and with a little luck her fleece will be similar to her brother (from another mother) Wooley Nelson. They are from the same farm, same breed crossing, just born different years.

We were lucky enough to get a call just a couple days later that another little bummer girl from the same farm was available. We love that these two girls will get to grow up together.
