Life Finds A Way

Professor Malcolm made this proclamation about dinosaurs in Jurassic Park and I find myself repeating it when I find little bits of life in the most unlikely places.

Life finds a way
A cold fall day finds a viola poking through a tangle of frost killed weeds.

This fall has been unusually warm giving more time than usual to put the yard to bed. I got the chance to mow up some leaves, leaving a nice clean yard for spring breakup, but found this little gem hiding in the leaves and grasses along the side of the maintained yard.

Viola
This viola is determined to make a go of it.

Such a treasure to find on a beautiful clear crisp day.
