Entourage

When people find out I have sheep they almost always ask “Why”? In truth I sometimes ask myself that very same question. Why sheep? Why not collect baseball cards, or spoons, like normal people?

Because sheep are cute and funny, sweet and lovable, oh and they taste FAN-TAS-TIC!

Some days the sheep wander the pasture, ignoring me completely. Yesterday, however, was not one of those days. Yesterday I had an entourage shadowing my every move. What they lack in stealth they make up for in cuteness.

None of the sheep in this video will be eaten, these are the girls. Their job is growing long luscious wool, and hopefully some spring lambs. Niko is a little indifferent to them now so I’m hoping they are all “off the market” so to speak <wink-wink> but it’s hard to tell with sheep.

Working in winter is such loud squeaky/crunchy business. If you listen close you can hear the pitter-patter of their tiny feet behind the loud scrunch of my own. It’s a calm and soothing sound, reminding me why I’m always out there in the cold, mucking about.
